Carol Elizabeth Zimmerman Miller

Carol Elizabeth Zimmerman Miller, 83, of Dayton, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at her home.

She was born on March 2, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Elmer and Lena (Foster) Zimmerman.

Carol was a member of Briery Branch Church of the Brethren, where she sang in the choir, and played the piano. She was also a member of the women’s fellowship and Crafty Hands Group, as well as a deacon of the church. She graduated from Turner Ashby High School in 1959. She attended Bridgewater College and was a secretary there for numerous years. She later worked part-time at Marshalls

Carol was united in marriage on June 22, 1974 to Paul Nelson Miller who preceded her in death on April 20, 2014.

Carol is survived by her children, Jeannie Watkins and husband Todd, and Virginia Miller; step-son, Daryl Miller and wife Suzanne; brother, Fred Zimmerman & wife Kathy; four grandchildren, Seth Miller, Clay Miller & wife Sarah, Bryce Miller, and Nicholas Harville; two great grandchildren, Wade Miller and Lilah Miller along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step-son, Ray Miller; brothers, Allen and his wife Peggy Zimmerman; and Robert and his wife Linda Zimmerman, as well as nephew Michael Zimmerman.

A service celebrating Carol's life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Briery Branch Church of the Brethren with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

Friends may call at the Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM to pay their respects and sign the register book.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Briery Branch Church of the Brethren, Picnic Shelter.
