Carl Douglas Rexrode

April 24, 1962 - November 26, 2024

STAUNTON – On November 26, 2024, Carl Douglas “Doug” Rexrode, loving husband, father and PawPaw was received into his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior eternally at the University of Virginia Hospital.

Born April 24, 1962 in Staunton, he was a son of Lloyd Ray Rexrode, Jr. and Gail (Argobast) Rexrode. He was previously employed by Central Tire/Rice Tire for 40 years and was a lifelong farmer (the passion he loved dearly with his wife and family). Doug also enjoyed hunting. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and attended Spring Hill ECO Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his loving and faithful farm wife of 37 years, Martha (Taylor) Rexrode; his loving and special daughter, Victoria (Rexrode) Stogdale and her husband Corey; his two very loving grandsons, Huxton Wayne and Creed Douglas Stogdale, who were his greatest love and the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his mother, Gail (Argobast) Rexrode; brother Mike and wife Jennifer Rexrode; and sister Kim and husband Mark Houff; as well as three nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Rexrode; and his in-laws, Melvin and Freda Taylor.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday (November 29) in Spring Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery officiated by Pastor Todd Lilley. Pallbearers will be William Revercomb, Eddie Michael, David Hanger, Cam Powell, Ronnie Snell and Tim Strickler.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall or other times at the residence.

The family would like to express a big “thank you” to the staff at HOPE Cancer Center, UVA Emily Couric Cancer Center, Dr. Arnold, Dr. Venkat, Dr. Kim, Dr. Yount and Dr. David Chernoff for the wonderful care Doug received over the last couple years.
