Brenda Carole (Campbell) Crummett

Brenda Carole (Campbell) Crummett, 78, wife of Donald Harrison “Don” Crummett, of Swoope, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. 
Mrs. Crummett was born in Staunton, Virginia on July 8, 1947, a daughter of the late William Tuttle Campbell and Hassie Virginia (Weaver) Campbell. 
Brenda enjoyed cooking and was well known for her generous spirit and willingness to serve others. She dedicated much of her time volunteering with local fire companies and took great pride in being involved in and attending community events. Brenda loved the outdoors, especially camping, and found joy and comfort in listening to bluegrass music.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. 
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crummett was preceded in death by five brothers; and ten sisters. 
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 62 years, are three daughters, Penny (Crummett) Wood and her husband, Allen of Staunton, Sheila Crummett of Swoope, and Judy (Crummett) Kauffman and her husband, Chad of Verona; three grandchildren, Corey Wood, Brittany Wood (Nick Adkins), and Tyler Kauffman (Rachel); three great-grandchildren, Georgia and Denver Adkins, and Judge Kauffman; and a number of nieces and nephews. 
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor George Etling. 
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens. 
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
