Betty Morris Aylor

Betty Morris Aylor, 74, of Grottoes, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

She was born on November 5, 1949, and was the daughter of the late James "Pete" Almond and Viola Catherine (Raynes) Gibson.

Betty graduated nursing school in 1991 and worked for Weyers Cave Family Practice for 28 years.

Betty was united in marriage to Milton Aylor, who survives.

Betty is survived by three children, Joe (Tara) Morris, Steve (Beth) Morris, and Becky (Tim) Nicely; five grandchildren, Austin (Nikki) Nicely, Morgan (Cameron) Bishop, Jared (Allison) Morris, Kayla Morris, and Brayden Morris; three great-grandchildren, Triton Bishop, Karsyn Nicely, and Rylynn Bishop; sister by marriage, Barbara Stoop.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Morris; brothers, Roger Stroop and Neville Gibson; grandson, Gabriel Morris; first husband, Kenneth J. Morris.

A graveside service will be held at 4 PM on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Port Republic Mutual Cemetery, with Ron Spencer officiating. Friends and family may visit her home at any time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grottoes Fire Department, PO Box 67 Grottoes, VA 24441 and/or Grottoes Rescue Squad, PO Box 1187, Grottoes, VA 24441.
