Betty Marston

February 28, 1941 - April 10, 2025

Betty Jane Marston found peace in Heaven on Thursday, April 10, 2025 in the presence of family and the comforting, caring hospice staff at the Shenandoah House. She lived in Staunton and was born on February 28, 1941 in Broadway, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruby Orebaugh.

Betty graduated from Middle River High School in Weyers Cave and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Church for 70 years. She dearly loved her wonderful church family. On December 21, 1963, she married Mardy Marston at Mt. Pisgah Church. Betty enjoyed going to the beach every year with her children, grandchildren, and one year included a great grandson. She also enjoyed traveling and had visited 45 states, the Bahamas, and Canada. Her and Mardy cherished the memories of the many trips they made with their best friends, Paul and June Harris. Betty retired from Robert E. Lee High School where she was a secretary in the guidance department. She retired so she could spend more time with her grandchildren, and that she did!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Orebaugh.

Besides Mardy, Betty is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Cherishing her memory is daughter, Kellie Wimer and her husband, Greg; granddaughter, Amanda Barrett and her husband, Joe; great grandchildren, Finn and Emma Barrett; grandson, Jordan Wimer and his love, Ashley Tait; son, Eric Marston; grandson, Taylor Marston and wife, Johanna; daughter, Cheryl Smith and her husband, Jeff; granddaughter, Emily Bowling and husband, Michael; great granddaughter, Charlotte Bowling; granddaughter, Jessica Coiner; great granddaughter, Penelope and grandsons: Tristan Coiner and Henley Coiner and his fiancée, Dani Allen. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Orebaugh and his wife, Brenda.

Betty had many accomplishments in life but the one she treasured most was being a grandmother. If they have Oscars for being the best grandmother she would have won hands down!

We are going to miss her, but never forget her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family also wants to thank her home hospice nurse, Robin Hamilton and her aide, Melissa Crosby for the loving care they gave Betty.
