Betty Ann (Layton) Strickler
Betty Ann (Layton) Strickler, 76, widow of James Alfred “Bud” Strickler, formerly of Craigsville, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 in Staunton.
Mrs. Strickler was born in Bath County, Virginia on May 24, 1949, daughter of the late Herbert Layton and Millie (Campbell) Layton.
Betty retired from Augusta Correctional Center, where she worked as a correctional officer. She enjoyed spending her free time watching television, especially NASCAR and her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Strickler was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Layton and Patsy Clifton.
Surviving, is a daughter, Linda Ann (Strickler) Dickey and her husband, Telford of Goshen; three adopted daughters, Lisa Johnson, Tammy Hallman, and Lindsay Strickler; a sister, Shirley Rodeffer; a brother, Herbert Layton; five grandchildren, Kimberly Cash and her husband, Trevor, Trevon Johnson, Nicholas Thompson, Alexsus Thompson, and Kingston Santmyer; two great-granddaughters, Paisley and Fallon Cash; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
