Bessie Green

Bessie Marie Green, 68, answered the call of our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her residence. She was born February 28, 1957, and was preceded in death by her parents, Viola Alexander Green and Forrest Green.

Bessie was employed by ConAgra Frozen Foods for twenty years. She was educated in the Nelson County Public School System. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Afton. Bessie enjoyed planting flowers and watching them blossom into their beauty. She also enjoyed listening to music, dancing and we can’t forget her cooking, which was excellent. Bessie will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Ezell Green (Karina), Frances (Drica) Green, Valteen Green and Gabriel Green; nine grandchildren, Sydney Wells, Khalil Green, Nadasia Green, Ja’Quan Green, Natabious Wingfield, Khyri Green, Sarynity Howard, Dominique Green, Daniah Cotto-Green, along with eight great grandchildren; her siblings, Melissia Barbour, Alice Awkard, Forrest Alexander, Raymond Green, Curtis Alexander (Connie), Bernard Green, James Green (Angie) and Bertha Bowles (Freddie); one aunt, Ada Fortune and one uncle, Frank Alexander and his wife, Mary; her close cousin, Grover Wallace and a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, April 25, 2025 at Christ Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 489 N. Winchester Ave., Waynesboro with Bishop Clyde Daniel Brown officiating. There will be a viewing at the church from 1:00pm until the hour of the service.

Immediately following the service there be a repast for family and friends in the church fellowship hall.
