Barry Dean Carey

Barry Dean Carey, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his residence. 
Mr. Carey was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on December 5, 1958, a son of Helen C. Lipsky and the late James Carey.
Barry retired from Kroger after many years of dedicated service in the meat department. He greatly enjoyed his retirement, especially the time he spent with his family. Barry will be remembered by his family for his presence and the place he held in their lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving, in addition to his loving mother, Helen C. Lipsky, is a brother, Brian Carey (Robin); his niece, Rachel Kincaid (Travis); his nephew, Ben Carey (Megan); and step-sisters, Cindi Gochenour and Sherri Smith. He also leaves behind his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Sawyer Kincaid, Helen Kincaid, Lydia Kincaid, and Kandon Carey; and other family members.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
