Barbara "Ryder" Ann Elizabeth Floyd
Barbara Ann Elizabeth (Ryder) Floyd, 86, received her heavenly crown on Monday, October 16, 2023.
Barbara was born on June 17, 1937, in Warm Springs, Virginia, a daughter of the late Aubrey William Ryder and Mary Frances (Mines) Dudley.
Barbara was a member of Valley Covenant Church. Her strong Christian faith was an example to many. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and was an avid reader. She was a Sunday school teacher for over forty years, a mentor to many young women, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Floyd; son, Bobby Floyd Jr; daughter-in-law, Robin Floyd; her siblings, Lanier Ford, George Ryder, and Norma Sturms; a sister-in-law, Florence Humphries; and a brother-in-law, Tommy Floyd.
Surviving, are her two sons, Tim Floyd and his wife, Kathy of Crimora and Steve Floyd and his wife, Lisa of Staunton; her daughter, Dana Wade and her husband, Mark of Waynesboro; ten grandchildren, Valerie Wampler, Lauren Floyd, Travis Floyd, Kelly Fischer, Michael and Eric Wade, Zach and Jacob Floyd, Derek Shifflett and Jordan Bird; twelve great-grandchildren, Ava and Anna Wampler, Onyx Brown, Stephen Floyd, Sawyer and Kaden Floyd, Ava, Knox and Riggs Fischer, Elijah and Hannah Agnew, and Madison Wade; a nephew, Michael Miller; four nieces, Lisa Miller Gordon, Sandy Shifflett, Cynthia Booth, and Debbie Patterson; and three sisters-in-law, Josephine Wimer and her children, Ronnie, Pam, and David, Mary Smith and her children, Tony, Penny, Laurie, and Hope, and Carolyn Floyd and her children, Debbie, Bonnie, Teresa, and Tracy.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Scott Jewell.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Tim Floyd, Steve Floyd, Jacob Floyd, Travis Floyd, Michael Wade, Eric Wade, Zach Floyd, and Ian Fischer.
