Ava Katherine (Eberly) Griffin

Ava Katherine (Eberly) Griffin, 82, widow of Ralph Edward Griffin, Sr. of Stuarts Draft, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Crimora, Virginia.
     Mrs. Griffin was born in Dayton, Virginia on September 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Marion Isreal Eberly and Reba Rosalie (Rhodes) Eberly.
     Ava was a turkey farmer for more than 30 years and retired as a special needs school bus driver for the Augusta County School System with 22 years of service. She was a member of Mountain View Mennonite Church. 
     In addition to her parents and husband of 42 years, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by a sister, Lelia Deputy; two brothers, William and Frederick Eberly; and a sister-in-law, Karen Eberly.
     She is survived by her children, Ralph Griffin, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Stuarts Draft, Robert Griffin and his wife Rebecca of Upper Tract, West Virginia, Amy Brooks and her husband Doug, Sr. of Stuarts Draft and David Griffin and his wife Randi of Crimora; her siblings, Mandell Shank of Dayton, Robert Eberly and his wife Elaine of Weyers Cave, and Buddy Eberly and his wife Karen of Dayton; a sister in law, Becky Eberly of Bridgewater; her grandchildren, Jason Griffin, Brian Griffin, Nathan Griffin, Jacob Griffin, Doug Brooks, Jr., Dustin Brooks, Wyatt Griffin, Waylon Griffin and Walter Griffin; and her 17 great-grandchildren, Carson, Austin, Maddison, Kenzie, Riley, Zander, Madalyn, Emery, Tillie Mae, Hollis, Walker, Hallie, Baylor, Noah, Eli, Ava and Elsie.
     The family would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to the Hospice of the Piedmont for the care shown to Ava and their gratitude and love to their sister Amy, for the care given to their mother over the past several years.
     The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.  
     Funeral services will be held at Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship Church, 216 Howardsville Turnpike, Stuarts Draft at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024 conducted by Pastor Bruce Hankee.
     Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
     Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
     Honorary pallbearers will her great grandchildren.
