Anthony "Tony" Summerfeal Henninger
Anthony Summerfeal “Tony” Henninger, 60, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Tony was born in Staunton, Virginia on September 26, 1964, a son of Betty Sprouse Henninger and the late Paul Henry Henninger.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Jesse Allen Henninger.
Tony wore many hats throughout his life as a drummer, chef, band manager, radio producer, and father. He also took over his father’s business, Paul’s Business Machines, fixing typewriters upon Paul’s passing. He loved listening to Ozzy Osbourne, watching Top Gear, and spending time with his partner, Lisa, and dog, Cooper. He was fiercely proud of his kids and made sure everyone knew it. Despite many health complications throughout his life, he kept a positive demeanor, keeping everyone laughing.
He was most at peace in the still of the morning when the world around him was asleep and nature would slowly wake, bringing on another day.
In addition to his mother of Stuarts Draft, he is survived by a daughter, Krystle Henninger of Brooklyn, NY; his sister, Sherri Dean and her husband, Dale of Waynesboro; a brother, Jason Henninger of Stuarts Draft; partner, Lisa Noble of Stuarts Draft; a number of nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members, and his dog Cooper.
A private graveside service will be held in Mount Vernon Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation to support research on Parkinson’s (P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741).
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
