Anna Elizabeth Rankin

Anna Elizabeth Rankin 90, passed away on October 18, 2024 at the Bridgewater Nursing Home. Anna was the daughter of Holly Rankin and Mattie Rankin Lewis. She was born May 25,1934 in Harrisonburg, VA.

Anna was a good natured person, always with a smile even when she was in pain. She enjoyed laughing with friends and family, which is what most people will remember about her. She had strong faith and was a devout Jehovah's Witness for 51 years. She would always try to share her hope with others.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, James Rankin, Nelson Rankin and Durwood Rankin and two sisters, Dorothy Graves and Virginia Stevens.

She is survived by her daughter Marieo Rankin Alston and her husband Tyrone who lovingly cared for her during her illness. She is also survived by three sisters, Shirley Phillips, Mary Woods and Sarah Strother and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna retired from Marshalls Distribution Center before going to work, part-time for the Alzheimer Association and the Bridgewater Forestry Service. She loved working with people and helping others.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on November 16, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 1766 Harpine Highway, Harrisonburg VA.
