Alee Bady

October 29, 1950 - March 31, 2024

Alee (also affectionately known as Alise) Bady, born on October 29¸1950, in Staunton, Virginia began her heavenly journey on Sunday, March 31, 2024.
She was the first in a family of six siblings to graduate from High School in 1968 (Booker T. Washington High School). The gift she desired most upon graduation was traveling luggage. She was bound and determined to leave home and pursue a career as an airline stewardess. Shortly after graduating, her luggage was packed and off she went to Washington, DC to pursue her dream. Life happens--Her plans changed. She took a job in DC working for Verizon Telephone Company as an International Operator. She worked for Verizon for 30 years before retiring at the age of 54. During her time at Verizon, she received many awards and certificates for her outstanding service. Most importantly, during those successful years as a professional, she had a son, Sonni Kareem. He was the center and love of her life. He tragically died from a defective heart condition as a young teenager. After his death, she desired to move back to Staunton to reunite with close family and friend. A major milestone and renewed love were becoming once again a parent. She found a new joy mothering a young child, Destiny. She became a full-time mother to Destiny. Years later, she became grandmother to Destiny’s son, Kareem. She also dedicated her life to First Church of God in Christ as an active member and servant for many years. She was an active supporter of Compassionate Friends. She also began a new career in health care as a Certificate Nurse Assistant that spanned until January 2024.
She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, talking with friends, collecting angel and teddy bear figurines, and her toy poodles.
She will be missed by all who knew her. Alee leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Destiny and grandson, Kareem; sisters, Mary Phillip (Pryor) and Laura; brothers, Caldwell and Robert; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Georgi and Carol; and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel by Reverend Ronald Watson.
