Alda Driver Revercomb
Alda Driver Revercomb, 89, of Bridgewater, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
She was born on June 15, 1935, to the late Beulah (Wine) and Martin Luther Driver, Sr. Alda was united in marriage to Roy Everette Revercomb, who preceded her in death. Alda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her kindness and unwavering support for her family and community.
As the wife of a farmer, she embraced a life of hard work and dedication to her home and loved ones. She was a faithful member of Briery Branch Church of the Brethren and found great joy in serving others, including 21 years as a member of the auxiliary of the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad.
She is survived by her son, Mark Revercomb, and his wife, Wanda, of Mount Crawford; her six beloved grandchildren, Martin, Anna Kaitlyn and husband Josh, Colton, John, Lindsey, and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren, Coralee, Merridy, and Elias.
She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Madeline Driver of Mount Solon and Lois Driver of Dayton; and a brother-in-law, Charles Bodkins of Dayton and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roy Lee Revercomb; her daughter, Heidi Revercomb; four sisters, Gay Simmer, Faye Bodkins, Waltine Begoon, and Agnes Sager; and three brothers, Martin Luther Driver, Jr., Gordon Driver, Jerry Driver; sister-in-law, Grace Revercomb Smith; Special friend, Irvin Dale Zimmerman.
A funeral service will be held at Briery Branch Church of the Brethren in Dayton, Virginia, at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, with Pastors Randy Costner and Kathy Puffenbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Briery Branch Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater.
