Addie Lee Edwards Haynes Walker, 83, formerly of Topping, Virginia, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 in Fishersville. She was born on October 22, 1941 in Roanoke to the late Henry Lewis "Tim" Edwards and Claudia Mary Poff Edwards. Addie earned her degree in Interior Decorating from the prestigious Chicago School of Interior Design, showcasing her dedication to creativity and design excellence.She found joy in making banners and props for church programs, as well as supporting her son's marching band. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to her community, becoming a long-time member of the United Methodist Church. Addie's commitment to her faith and service was evident as she held various offices with the United Methodist Women at local, district, and conference levels, eventually serving as the former president of the Virginia Conference United Methodist Women. Addie was also a proud grandmother to her grandson, Luke. Addie is survived by her son, Kevin Wilson Haynes and his wife, Beth and her grandson, Luke Wilson Haynes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Wilson Haynes; and her second husband, James Earl Walker.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM and following the service at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Waynesboro. A funeral service will be held on December 4, 2024 at 3:00 PM also at St. Mark's United Methodist Church.A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, 80 Soles Lane, Dutton, Virginia.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church (2316 West Main St., Waynesboro, VA, 22980).
