Pamela Gail Powell, 72, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born on December 16, 1953, in Harrisonburg to the late Ronald Hawthorne and Peggy Carolyn Cline Powell. Pamela had a lifelong love for horses and found great joy in her work as a horse trainer, and she devoted much of her time to working with and caring for them. She especially enjoyed the peace and tranquility of life on her farm, where she felt most at home surrounded by the animals and countryside she loved. Pamela also held a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Brandy and Stella, who brought her endless companionship and happiness. She is survived by her son, Michael Berbes and his wife, Mary Lee; her daughter, Brigette Berbes; her brother Ronald Powell and his wife, Patty; her sister, Lynn Talbott; her special friends, Wayne Marshall and Nancy Huber; and numerous grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg with Mark Bowman officiating. Henry Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
