Gary Preston Hedrick, 80, husband of Rhonda K. Hedrick of Mt. Sidney, went to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Mr. Hedrick was born on July 24, 1946 in Brandywine, West Virginia, a son of the late Virgil and Pauline Hedrick.

Gary was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church, where his faith and relationship with the Lord were an important part of his life. He was very active in his church and cherished the love and fellowship of his church family.

A patriotic man, Mr. Hedrick honorably served four years in the United States Navy. His time in the Navy was an important part of his life, and he valued the opportunity to serve his country.

Gary was a hardworking man who took great pride in all he did. He owned and operated his own HVAC company and found joy in the simple things, especially woodworking and gardening. He was a man who enjoyed working with his hands and taking satisfaction in a job well done.

Above all, Gary was a devoted family man. He loved his children deeply and treasured his role as “Pawpaw” to his grandchildren. His family brought him great joy, and the love and memories they shared will be cherished for generations to come.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda S. Hedrick; an infant son, Andrew Hedrick; and two brothers, Joe Hedrick and Gene Bowers.

In addition to his loving wife, Rhonda, of 19 years, he is survived by four sons, Preston Hedrick, Benjamin S. Hedrick and his wife, Jennifer, Daniel Hedrick and his wife, Grace, and Mike Hedrick; two step-children, Craig Williams and his wife, Sara and Katie Sutherland and her husband, Andrew; a sister, Judy Blosser; grandchildren, Lydia, Josiah, Olivia, Scarlett, Desmond, Lilah, Evangeline, Cole, Cooper, Sydney, Stella, McKinley, Lakyn, Deacon, and Elijah; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved church family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.at Faith Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will follow at 5:00 p.m. by Pastors Eric Brown and Ben Hedrick.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2026 in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
