Barbara Ann Loyd

Barbara Ann Loyd, 77, of Mount Solon, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at her home.

She was born on December 31, 1948 and was a daughter of the late James and Frances (Kennedy) Ingram.

Barbara was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mt. Solon. She was devoted to her family and community. Barbara was a wonderful cook and crafter. She tried to make everyone feel loved and included. She enjoyed taking rides with her husband, going to see Cristy at work, attending every family event, giving pumpkins for Halloween and easter eggs at Easter.

Barbara was united in marriage to Jimmy A. Loyd, and would have celebrated 59 years of marriage on November 24..

Barbara is survived by her daughter, whom was her world, Carla "Cristy" "Froggy" Loyd Myers; a brother, Samuel "Sammy" Ingram & wife Debbie and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Bosserman and Nancy "Lee" Brooks; and her brother, James "Jimmy" Ingram.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater.

A service celebrating Barbara's life will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel in Bridgewater with David Kite officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 711 Freemason Run Rd., Mt. Solon, VA 22843 and/or the Mt. Solon Fire & Rescue Squad, 86 Emmanuel Church Rd., Mount Solon, VA 22843.
