Edward Wetherell

Edward Lee Wetherell, age 94, passed away on September 1, 2026, at his home in Bridgewater, VA.

Ed was born in Ohio on September 16, 1931, to William R. and Estella Keller Wetherell. He led a full life that included restoring antique cars and attending many car shows. He was also an Army veteran, having served in the White Coats during the Korean war.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, as well as by his brother, Bill Wetherell, and his sister, Joanne Wolfe.

Ed is survived by his wife and dedicated caregiver, Sue Wetherell, and also by his children, Wade Wetherell (Jean), Douglas Wetherell, Jeffrey Wetherell (Penni), and Christy Laramay, and his step-children, Teresa Bayes, Michael Ritchie and Jeffrey Ritchie.

He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Misha, Brooke, Colton, Logan, Spencer, Weston, Jennifer, Emily, Paige, Allison and Bradley. In addition to the grandchildren, Ed is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and honorary grandchild, Maddie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 822 Country Club Road, Harrisonburg, VA 22802, where Ed was a member. Dress is casual.
