Ronald Hugh Herndon

Ronald “Ron” Hugh Herndon, 79, of Crimora, Virginia passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at his home.

He was born on November 2, 1946, and was a son of the late Claude Herndon and Mary (Salyers) Herndon Culbertson.

Ron served his country for 4 years in the US Army and 16 years in the US Air Force. Following his retirement from military service he worked as a truck driver for JB Hunt and later Beam Brothers. Ron enjoyed riding his motorcycle, Corvette, and spending time with his family and friends.

Ron was united in marriage to Linda (Hill) Herndon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jason and Rachael Herndon, and his granddaughter, Katelyn Curry & husband Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Alan Herndon.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Grottoes.
