John Boyd “J.B.” Campbell, Jr., 81, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026. He was born on January 18, 1945, in Staunton to the late John Boyd, Sr. and Dorothy Lee Malone Campbell.J.B. retired from DuPont following an impressive fifty years of dedicated service. He was an active member of the Waynesboro Elks Lodge #2270 and a member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church. In his free time, J.B. enjoyed watching professional wrestling, westerns, and NASCAR and loved going camping. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Nikole Campbell Batts and her husband, Joel; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Velda Sharon Fitzgerald Campbell; and his brother, Ronald Lee Campbell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton and other times at J.B.’s residence. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Reverend Billy Coffey officiating. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro. After the graveside service the family will receive friends at home.
