Betty L. Cramer
We are honoring the life of Betty L. Cramer who passed into the arms of Jesus on August 9, 2026 and was reunited with her husband and family in Heaven.
Betty was born to the late Elllis P. and Ruth V. Dinkle on August 25th, 1929 in Staunton, VA. She spent her childhood in Arlington, Va. She had two sisters, Mary Louise McLear and Nancy J. Gardner who she was extremely close to.
She moved with her family back home to Parnassus, VA. from Arlington, VA. when she was a junior in high school so her dad could help her grandmother McCutchan on the family farm after her grandfather McCutchan died. She graduated from North River High School in 1947, where she played on the girls' basketball team. Mom always talked about how happy they were to move out of the city.
She married her husband, Charles "Bud" Cramer on March 24, 1951. They were married 46 years until his death on September 8, 1997. She missed him terribly. Together they had three children.
Doris (LeRoy) Cline of Weyers Cave, Robert (Jacque) Cramer of Dayton, and Charles Alan (Sheila) Cramer of Mt. Solon. They were blessed with seven grandchildren. Cara (Robert) Price, Adam Cline (fiancé, Lauren Reeves), Ryan (Ginny) Cramer, Blake Cramer, Catherine (Wesley) Kennedy, Alison (Alex) Donnelly and Catherine Cramer. In addition she also had seven great grandchildren: Brianna and Jackson Price, Samuel, Ann Margaret and Mary Frances Cramer, Natalie Drumheller and Lizzie Kennedy.
Her family was always her focus and she loved them with her whole heart and worried about their wellbeing. It was hard for her to adjust to the role reversal of taking care of her "kids" to them taking care of her.
Mom was the essence of what a wife, mother, grandmother and friend should be. She raised her family by example and to love God. She took her children to church every Sunday. Her home was spotless and she was the best cook in the world. She was a member of Moscow Church of the Brethren, Emmanuel Church of the Brethren (where she sang in the choir) and most recently Summit Church of the Brethren.
Johnson's Funeral Service in Bridgewater is assisting with the services. Anyone wishing to pay respects may visit the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the church following the service, which will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026 at Summit Church of the Brethren officiated by Pastor Tim Craver. A burial for family and close friends will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, Aug. 15th at Emmanuel Church of the Brethren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
