Sandra Anita Austin

Sandra Anita (Tomlinson) Austin, 85, widow of Walter Alfred Austin, formerly of Locust Street, Fishersville, and most recently of The Legacy at North Augusta, Staunton, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. Mrs. Austin was born in Buena Vista, Virginia on August 5, 1940, a daughter of the late William Jackson Tomlinson and Sara (Niece) Tomlinson. Sandra was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church. She retired from Genicom as a Relay Tech, she enjoyed doing crafts and sewing. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Jean (Tomlinson) Sizer. Surviving are two daughters, Diane (Austin) Claytor of Staunton, and Roxane (Austin) Rowe and husband, David of Waynesboro; a brother, William Jackson “Jack” Tomlinson, II and wife, Sharon of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Benjamin Claytor (Carolyn), Nate Claytor (Lilly), Colby Rowe (Jada) and Peyton Rowe (Pete); three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Rev. Dr. Gene Williams. The family would like to express a sincere “Thank You” to friends, staff and special family at the Legacy of North Augusta, for all their care and support shown to Sandra.
