Ronald Bernard Joyce

Ronald Bernard Joyce, of Bridgewater, VA passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026 after battling Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) these past eight years. He was 91.

Ronald was born September 7, 1934 in Morristown, NJ the son of the late Samuel Raymond and Mary Ann (Hock) Joyce. Ronnie was raised in Camden, NJ and graduated from Camden High where his greatest memories and life long friends where made on the school's varsity basketball team.

After high school Ronnie was employed as a draftsman for the Campbell's Soup company and in later years Industrial Sales. He served his country in the US Army Reserve from 1957 to 1963.

At a neighborhood dance when Ronnie was 18 he met Roseanne Kathryn (Pear). They were united in marriage February 11, 1961 and celebrated 65 years together.

Ron enjoyed carpentry and labored for years restoring their 1845 home in Lumberton, NJ where they raised their family. In 1986 Ron and Roseanne purchased their treasured beach house on Long Beach Island, NJ. He spent every possible weekend and summer day enjoying sun sets, surf fishing for striped bass, and swimming in the ocean. He was fascinated by ship wrecks and the storm of 62, and was an avid sports fan of boxing, the Philadelphia Eagles and Seventy Sixers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Kasten (Bart) of Bridgewater, VA, his son Ronald Joyce Jr. of Encinitas, CA and grandchildren Ella, Ezra, Phineas, and Francis Kasten.
