Nancy Strickler
Nancy Ann Strickler, 67, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on May 5, 2026.
Born in Maryland on January 29, 1959, Nancy was the daughter of Elizabeth Mary Wacker and Frank Raymond Lambert. She attended Kenwood Senior High School in Maryland before later moving to Virginia, where she met the love of her life, Calvin “Boone” Strickler.
Nancy was known for her warm heart, vibrant personality, and love for family and friends. She spent many years working as a talented cook at Cracker Barrel and Kathy’s Restaurant, where she was appreciated for both her cooking and kindness. Alongside her husband, Nancy shared a deep love for NASCAR, especially cheering on their favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. Sundays were often spent watching races together, and they enjoyed attending many races over the years.
She found joy in camping, cookouts, old television shows, playing games on her phone, and most of all spending precious time with her family and newest grandbaby. Though small in stature, Nancy had a larger-than –life personality and was lovingly known as “Nanner” by everyone who knew her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Calvin “Boone” Strickler, and her daughter, Lori Jo Clark.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Ariana Clark and fiancé, Chris; grandson, Billy Clark and girlfriend, Abby; great grandson, Devin Carter Clark; brother, Frank Lambert, Jr. and wife, Tonya; sisters, Stacy Roark, Tracy Lambert, Kelly Johnson, and Lisa Lambert; nephew, Frank Lambert, III; nieces, Brittany and Cassie Lambert ; numerous other nieces and nephews; and Morgan Phillips, who was very close to her.
She also leaves behind her foster mother, Donna Fout, and foster siblings, Michael Pace, William Pace, Maryann Baublitz, and Julia Prokic with whom she spent much of her childhood and remained close to throughout the years.
Nancy will be deeply messed and forever remembered in the hearts and memories of all who loved her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
