Troy Nelson Kyle, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He was born on March 24, in Waynesboro to Sandra Kay Kyle and the late Roy Nelson KyleTroy was the proud owner and operator of Kyle’s Towing, which started as the family business Kyle’s Amoco, where he built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships with those he served. Outside of work, Troy enjoyed life to the fullest. In his younger years, he spent many years truck pulling and later enjoyed playing softball. He loved the outdoors, especially camping, and could often be found at his cabin in Monterey hunting, metal detecting, and spending time with his family. Farming was another passion of his, and he took great pride in working the land. He cherished the time spent farming with his great-uncle, Bobby Garrett, until his passing and carried on that tradition alongside his son, Justin. Above all else, Troy’s family was his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to his mother, Sandra Kay Kyle, he is survived by his fiancée, Becky Woodzell; his son, Justin Nelson Kyle; his daughter, Kristen Dawn Crawford (Daniel Harris); his sister, Misty Ladawn Kyle (Mike Evelsizer); his niece, Amber Lachelle Gregory (Chad Wilfong); his grandchildren, Hunter Crawford, and Noah and Stella Harris; his great-niece, Madilyn Wilfong; his great-aunt, Shirley Garrett; his close family friend, Jeff Flint; and numerous cousins. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Chadwick Anthony Kyle; and his great-niece, Maylee Scott Wilfong. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor Harley Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Kyle, Tony Crosby, Chad Wilfong, Hunter Crawford, Daniel Harris, and Mike Evelsizer. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or United Cerebral Palsy (8401 Old Courthouse Road, Vienna, VA 22182).
