Nancy Lee (Ashby) Graves

Nancy Lee (Ashby) Graves, 84, wife of Gary Eugene “Gene” Graves, of Pierce Street, Staunton, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Augusta Health. Mrs. Graves was born in Staunton, Virginia on November 11, 1941, a daughter of the late Frederick Lee Ashby, Sr. and Pansy Lee (McCray) Ashby. Nancy enjoyed spending time traveling, shopping, she was an avid NASCAR fan and she enjoyed watching football, especially the Miami Dolphins. In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by a son, Rickie E. Graves (Patti Butler) of Stuarts Draft; a daughter, Deborah L. Arbogast, her husband, Kirby of Staunton; a brother, Frederick Lee Ashby, Jr. of Staunton; four grandchildren, Jennifer Graves-Leach and her husband Frankie, Brittany Humphrey, Jacob Tory Humphrey, Kirby Austin Arbogast; and eight great-grandchildren, Blake, Baleigh, Jonathan, Jacob, Tori, Autumn, Hunter and Oaklynn. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory. A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Rev. William “Bill” Trice. Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
