Lois Jean (Diehl) High

Lois Jean (Diehl) High, 86, of Grottoes, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born on February 27, 1940, and was a daughter of the late Trosel Josiah Diehl and Isa Pearl (Wright) Diehl.

Lois had worked as a seamstress at Metro Pants Factory in Bridgewater. She was a member of Grottoes Church of the Brethren.

Lois was united in marriage to Phillip Randolph High for 53 years, who preceded her in death on September 10, 2022.

Lois is survived by son Joey Fitzwater; three brothers, Roland (Joyce) Diehl, Bobby (Elaine) Diehl, Earl Diehl; two sisters, Ruth Shull, Charlotte Lotts; three grandchildren, Jennifer Marsh, James Fitzwater, Alexandra Fitzwater; two great grandchildren, Makayla Marsh, Mikey Marsh.

In addition to her spouse and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Diehl and Paul Diehl; one sister, Ollie Mae Diehl.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes with Pastor Tim Munson officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the funeral home.
