Lee Warren Simmons

Lee Warren Simmons, 81, of Woodstock, VA and formerly of Milton, NJ and Sparta, NJ, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at his home in Woodstock with his spouse and sons at his bedside praying for him. Lee died from the effects of Fragile X Ataxia Tremor Syndrome, after years of courageously fighting it. Mr. Simmons was born in Paterson, NJ, the son of the late Frederick Francis and Helen Eleanor Muha Simmons. Lee attended Milton Elementary School in Milton, NJ, graduated from Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, NJ, and studied at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Simmons Married his sweetheart Eileen Colie on May 14, 1966, at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church in Green Pond, NJ. Mr. Simmons worked in sales for most of his career, winning many awards and citations. Lee made many friends over the years whom he stayed in touch with after retirement, especially Naresh Ayyala and Subba Bedetti. Mr. Simmons had a passion for skiing and was an instructor for many years. He was proud to be certified by PSIA and taught his sons to ski at an early age, and they too became instructors. Lee was a communicant at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, VA. He loved attending Mass there and the friends he made, especially Father Augustine Tran. Mr. Simmons is survived by his loving spouse of nearly 60 years, Eileen Colie Simmons; his beloved sons Christopher Daniel Simmons and wife Alison Elaine Simmons, Gregory Sean Simmons and Jeffrey Francis Simmons; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Simmons and spouse Julia, Brianna Butler and spouse Philip Butler, Kevin Lee Simmons and spouse Mikaela, Joshua Daniel Simmons, and Michelle Lorraine Simmons and partner, Dalton Linger; his great-children, Emma, Kate, and Josie Simmons, Danny and Molly Butler, and Wesley Linger; his siblings Nancy Lynn Simmons, David Allen Simmons, and Aaron Dean Simmons and spouse Barbara (Kertcher) Simmons; nephew Francis Simmons and spouse Brittany; nieces Erika Simmons, Dre Simmons and spouse Norman Scaravetti, Kirsten Simmons and spouse Selva Rajendran, Kelly Stewart; four great nieces and nephews, Sadie and Julien Simmons; and twins James and Priya Ragendran. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Simmons will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, April 17 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, VA. Mr. Simmons will be laid to rest at the Massanutten Cemetery, Woodstock, VAThe family will receive friends and have prayers at the St. John the Evangelist Hall, on the campus of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
