Michael Lynn Buchanan

Michael Lynn Buchanan, 64, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

He was born on July 5, 1961, and was a son of the late Ervin and Shirley (Simmons) Buchanan.

Mike worked for Sentara RMH, and was a devoted member of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Elkton.

Mike is survived by a son, Shawn E. Thornton; brother, Ervin (Mary) Buchanan; sisters, Bonnie Nunnally, and Donna Brockwell; niece, Wendy Brockwell; and nephews, Gary Ingram, Nathan Nunnally, Kenton Nunnally, and R.W. Brockwell.

He is also preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Jean Ingram.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.

A service celebrating Mike's life will be held on Wednesday, April 15th, at 11 AM at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes, with Pastor Ron Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
