Susie Drummond

Susie Irene Ryman Drummond, 80, of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, VA. 

Mrs. Drummond was born in Shenandoah County, VA on October 10, 1945, a daughter of the late Joseph Milton and Verna Mae Elbon Ryman.  She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church.  Mrs. Drummond loved gardening and her flowers.  She previously worked for Dr. Gerometta Dentist office, the Belle Grove Plantation and the Shenandoah Valley Museum.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert “Joe” Drummond, Jr. and siblings Joseph Ryman, Robert M. Ryman, Daniel C. Ryman and Jean M. Bauserman.

Survivors include her two sons, Brian Drummond and David Drummond, both of Strasburg; two grandchildren, Mary Beth Bodanske (Alex) and Cameron Drummond; her siblings, Patsy Himelright, and Michael Ryman along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A funeral service for Mrs. Drummond will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Strasburg, VA.  Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.  

Pallbearers will be Brian Drummond, David Drummond, Cameron Drummond, William Ryman, Daren Pingley, Cayden Ryman, Todd Baker, and Paul Orndorff.
