Marilyn Laverne (Cook) Simmons

Marilyn Laverne (Cook) Simmons, 72, wife of Ronnie Dale Simmons, of Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.
Mrs. Simmons was born in Staunton, Virginia on July 21, 1953, a daughter of the late Paul Kenneth Cook and Anna Lee (Kiracofe) Cook.
Marilyn was employed at the Waynesboro Garden Center and enjoyed reading murder mystery novels in her spare time. 
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 48 years, are two sons, Ronnie Paul Simmons of Staunton and Randy Julian Simmons of Lynchburg; a sister, Connie Jenkins of Fredericksburg; and five grandchildren, Blake Smith, Seth Simmons, Payton Hulvey, October Simmons and Gabriel Simmons.
Per her request, there will be no formal services. 
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
