Susan Elaine Stuart Brown, 67, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.She was born on February 13, 1958, in Staunton, to the late Theodore Junior and Charlene Rebecca Walker Stuart.Susan shared fifty-one beautiful years with Charles, including thirty-eight years of marriage.A proud and devoted matriarch, Susan was the heart of her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy, always at the center of her life.Susan was a faithful member of Mount Salem Baptist Church in Staunton, where she stayed actively involved and committed to serving the Lord. Her church family knew her as steady and dependable - and as many would lovingly say, she might arrive a little late, but she was always there!She is survived by her loving husband, Charles William Brown; her son, Charles Franklin Brown; her daughters, Kimberly Diane Stuart and Charlene Renee Brown; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Kim Theodore Stuart; and her sister, Patricia Gail Stuart.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kaswana LaShay Edmonds; her brothers, Garry Eugene and Tyrone Lamont Stuart, Sr., and Richard S. Stuart; and her sisters, Linda Diane Stuart Johnson and Judy Ann Stuart.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Mount Salem Baptist Church in Staunton with Pastor Byron Woods officiating.Active pallbearers will be Daniel Walker, Richard Walker, Rodney Harmon, Merlin Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Charles J. Brown, Jaylin Brown and Isai Edmonds.Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton.
