Eleanor May (Hanger) Rusmisel

Eleanor Mae (Hanger) Rusmisel, 88, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Life Care Center of New Market.

She was born on April 19, 1937 and was a daughter of the late Arlie and Frances (Dingledine) Hanger.

Eleanor enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She had attended Bethlehem Brethren Church.

Eleanor was united in marriage first to David Shifflett, Sr. and then to Roy Rusmisel, both who preceded her in death.

Eleanor is survived by a son, Donald Shifflett; her sisters, Carolyn Edwards and husband Bernard; step son, Roy Rusmisel, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, David Shifflett, Jr, and Gary Shifflett; her brother, Donnie Franklin Hanger.

Services will be private.
