Bobby Don Guyer

August 3, 1935 - February 4, 2026

Bobby Don Guyer passed from this earth to his heavenly home on February 4, 2026, at White Birch Communities where he resided with his wife of 69 years, Bonnie Evers Guyer.

Bobby was born on August 3, 1935, in Dayton, Virginia where he lived for almost his entire life on the same piece of property. He was the son of the late Earman and Hazel (Hilbert) Guyer.

Bobby graduated from Dayton High School and was a gifted self-taught electrician who could look at any building and determine its wiring needs. He worked for Cerro Metals in Weyers Cave for many years, but also spent time in Texas doing the electrical work on oil refineries. After he retired, Bobby served as a driver for those in the Mennonite Community and spent many hours working with his daughter on the farm.

Bobby was a member of Montezuma Church of the Brethren, where he was a Sunday School teacher for many years and where he occupied the second pew to enjoy his wife's conducting of the choir.

Bobby dearly loved boating on Smith Mountain Lake where he spent more weekends than Bonnie would have preferred.

Surviving family members include a daughter, Sherri Guyer (Roxanne), grandson, Joel Fulwider, sister-in-law, Juanita Hopkins (Kenny), brother-in-law, Frank Evers (Joyce), sister-in-law, Joyce Evers, brother-in- law, Bill Simmons (Dolly), and a special niece, Bonita Vance (Kenny), and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Stanley Evers (Ruby), brother-in-law, Norman Evers (Reba Jean), brother-in-law, Rudolph Evers, brother-in-law, Don Evers, sister-in-law Phyllis Glick (Don), and sister-in-law, Shelby Simmons.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Johnson's Funeral Home in Bridgewater with Pastor Terri Luzynski officiating. Committal will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service on Monday February 9, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
