Nancy Carol Shiflett
Nancy Carol Shiflett, age 70, of Staunton, Virginia, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 14, 2026, at English Meadows Senior Living in Crozet, Virginia.
Born on March 29, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, Nancy was the daughter of Freda L. and Clyde D. Thomas. Nancy grew up in Baltimore, where she met her husband, Frank. A nearly-50-year relationship ensued and they were married on May 24th, 1980. Nancy was creativity personified, always immersed in a project-whether painting, sewing, or crafting something beautiful from whatever she had on hand. Her warmth touched all who knew her, and she was truly a light in this world. Nancy was deeply devoted to her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, which guided her life and relationships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freda and Clyde Thomas; her sister, Barbara Lawhorn; her brother, Frankie Thomas; her son, Kevin Shiflett; and her granddaughter, Anna Marie Foster.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her son, Allen Ray Myers V and Cecelia Land, who was like a daughter to her; her grandchildren, Annette Sikorski, Elizabeth Cramer, Emerald Johnson, Alexandria Staten, Elliana Staten, Vincent Myers, Alice Myers, Kodey Foster, and Jaycee Ward; her great-grandchildren, Abel and Callahan Sikorski; her brother, Tommy Thomas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Per Nancy's request, no service will be held. There will be a celebration of life with friends and family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family wishes to thank the staff at English Meadows Senior Living and InnovAge Virginia PACE for their care and kindness.
