Gary "Cotton" Wayne Rosson
Gary "Cotton" Wayne Rosson, 75, of Port Republic, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
He was born on May 15, 1950, and was a son of the late George Henry Rosson and Elizabeth Aileen (Barger) Rosson.
Cotton had worked as a roofer. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was an avid hunter. He especially loved turkey hunting. He also loved to play softball with his family softball team, simply named, "The Family," and throw horseshoes with his son, Chris.
He was united in marriage for 54 years to Ann (Fitzgerald) Rosson who survives.
Cotton is survived by four children, Tim Rosson and wife, Debbie, Elizabeth "Betsy" Ruble and husband, Scott, Chris Rosson and wife, Felicia, and Andy Rosson; four brothers, Jack Rosson, V.E. Rosson, Roger Rosson, Ronnie Rosson; a sister, Frieda Self; a special niece, Jennifer Rosson; best friend from childhood, David "Turkey" Morris; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George "Billy" Rosson, Cecil "Pete" Rosson, and Keith Rosson; two sisters, Audra Kerby and Velma "Nedia" McCormick; and a great-grandchild, Darick Ruble.
There will be no formal services.
