Kristi Ritenour

Kristi Ann Ritenour, 62, of Strasburg, VA passed away on December 21, 2025, in Winchester, VA.

Kristi was born in Winchester, VA on February 21, 1963, to Kitty Lee Nicholas and the late Ray F. Ritenour, Sr. Kristi graduated from Strasburg High School in 1981. She worked at Coastal Recreation Automotive Industries, in the optometry field, motel business in Fort Lauderdale, Rite Aid in Strasburg, as well as Martins and the family’s grocery store in Fishers Hill. Many knew her as a teller at First Virginia Bank. Kristi was a member of Emmanuel Church at Fishers Hill, baptized confirmed and accepted Jesus. Kristi received her first “The Children’s Living Bible” from her mom and dad in April 1974. Kristi loved her many mini cacti, bears, and many animals. She loved watching the ducks and geese on Tumbling Run and especially the great blue heron she named Scarlet O’Heron.

She is survived by her mother Kitty Lee Ritenour; her siblings Ray F. Ritenour, Jr. and Karen Axelson (Darrell); her uncle Terry Nicholas (Robin); and several cousins, and extended family members.  

A funeral service for Kristi will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Emmanuel Church at Fishers Hill, with Pastor. Dan Locke officiating.  Burial will follow in Fishers Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Kibler, Ronnie Stickley, Carl Hamrick, Gary Walker, Brian Bromley, and Ricky Holsinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Sarah Bagnell, Tannis Walker, Alpha Sibert, Doris Balz-West, Marcy Bauserman, Linda Northcraft, Larry Allamong and Brad Stover.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Emmanuel Church at Fishers Hill, P.O. Box 45, Fishers Hill, VA 22626.
