Frances Hailey

April 27, 1945 - November 20, 2025

Frances Lee Hailey, of Waynesboro, a cherished wife, mother, and maw-maw, received her wings on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Augusta Health in Fishersville surrounded by her family. She was born in Charlottesville on April 27, 1945, a daughter of the late James and Loretta Leslie.

Frances worked as a homemaker and help babysit local children for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and keeping up with her soap operas. Frances will be remembered for being a loving and caring person who would do anything to help anyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Steven W. Estes; first husband, James W. Campbell; her maternal and paternal grandparents; as well as many beloved cousins.

Left to cherish her memory is her wonderful husband of 51 years, Harry Steven Hailey; children, Deborah K. Estes and Megan “Nikki” Hailey and her husband, Holden Felgar; grandchildren, Steven “JR” Estes and April Moreno-Loya; great-grandchildren: Christian, Alaya, Cheyenne and Natalya Moreno-Loya, Matthew, Miken, Major, and Madden Estes; great-great-grandchild, Everest Moreno-Loya; as well as extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Mount Vernon Church of the Brethren, 90 Mount Vernon Rd., Waynesboro, with Pastor Dwight Roetto officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Vernon Church of the Brethren.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew and the Augusta Health ED for their compassionate care.
