Dale Randolph
STAUNTON – Charles Dale Randolph, 85, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025.
Born August 4, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama, Dale was the son of the late Armon and Patty (Tate) Randolph. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and went on to earn master’s degree in theology from David Lipscomb College.
In 1960 he married the former Martha Elleen Starling. With Martha by his side, he cofounded World Bible Translation Center, which translated the Bible into the languages of other countries throughout the world. Dale served as president of WBTC, which was based in North Richland Hills, Texas, for 30 years.
After retiring in 2012, Dale and Martha moved to Staunton and enjoyed being active in Community Fellowship Church. Dale’s other favorite pursuits included traveling, reading and painting.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife are three children, Charles Dale Randolph Jr. (wife Milli) of Amcram, N.Y., Carla Long (husband Tom) of Haskell, Tex., and Cherié Morel (husband Lucas) of Staunton; siblings Micky Randolph, Sandra Randolph and Randy Randolph; grandchildren Nathan Long, Debbi Beth Maxwell (husband Aaron), Andrew Long, Lucas Morel (wife Kiraleah Page Morel), Hannah Morel, Ellison Morel, Natalie Morel, Benjamin Randolph, and Fania Randolph; and great-grandchildren Karis and Ethan Maxwell.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Reese; and a brother, Ted Randolph.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 8 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home in Churchville, officiated by Mr. John Morrison. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the funeral service.
