Charles "Chuck" Lawson
Charles “Chuck” Lawson of McGaheysville passed away peacefully with his family by his
side on October 29, 2025 at the age of 74. Chuck was the son of the late Eugene Clayton Lawson and Verrell Lawson Birt of McGaheysville.
Chuck is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Virginia Lawson. Also surviving are his children Kandy and Eli; his special fur-baby Sasha; his sisters Allie and husband John Crawford of Rocky Bar, Jean Stanley of Shenandoah and his favorite sister-in-law, Juanita.
Chuck proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. as a teenager. Upon completing his basic training at Camp Lejeune, NC, Chuck was later deployed to the jungles of Vietnam. Returning from Vietnam and after being honorably discharged, Chuck later resumed life in McGaheysville with his wife, Virginia and grandson Michael.
Chuck and his father, Clayton opened and operated Lawson Overhead Doors together, for many years, until Clayton passed at the early age of 49. Chuck then became sole owner and operator of Lawson Overhead Doors. Because of continuing health issues due to his years in the military, Chuck was forced to retire early and close Lawson Overhead Doors. During his working years, Chuck made many friends and could carry on a lengthy conversation with anyone about anything. Chuck especially liked to voice his political opinions with anyone who would listen.
Chuck fought the good fight, finished the course and is now enjoying his “golden years” in heaven.
Honoring Chuck’s wishes, all services will be private
