Edward Bickel

Edward Thorn Bickel, Jr., age 58, of Maurertown VA, died on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Edward was born on June 18, 1967, son of Ruth Ann Bickel and the late Edward Thorn Bickel, Sr. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, worked for WVPT in Harrisonburg, and later worked for the public school system. 

He is survived by his wife, Sarah G. Bickel; his children, Quinn and Ari Bickel; his mother, Ruth Bickel; his brothers, Thorn Bickel (wife Stephanie) and John David Bickel (wife Jamie) and their children; his best friend, Mark Williams; his Uncle Bud and Aunt Dorris, and 19 cousins on his paternal side; his Aunt Irma, and numerous cousins on his maternal side. 

Edward, known by his family as Eddie, cherished time with his loved ones. Along with his wife and children, his parents, brothers, niece, nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins, he took part in family traditions such as the annual day-after-Christmas football game, followed by dinner and games. He will be deeply missed. 

A celebration of life will be held during the family’s annual day-after-Christmas gathering.
