Donna Wheeler
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Wheeler, a beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, who left us unexpectedly on October 5, 2025, at the age of 44. Donna was born on January 21, 1981, in Waynesboro, Virginia, and spent her life in the embrace of her loving family and friends.
Donna was a beacon of strength and determination. Throughout her life, she faced numerous challenges, but her unwavering spirit and resilience allowed her to overcome them all. She was a pillar of support for those around her, always willing to lend a helping hand, even when she herself was struggling. Her innate ability to care for others made her an extraordinary mother to her two children, Destiny and Jamie McVey, who were the light of her life. Donna was fiercely motivated to ensure that her children had the best possible opportunities, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Basil Bosserman, whose memory she cherished dearly. Donna is survived by her loving mother, Robin Voorhees, her father, Robert Voorhees, and, Allen McVey. She leaves behind her adoring daughter, Destiny, and her beloved son, Jamie, both of whom she loved unconditionally. Donna was also a devoted sister to Jessica Lewis and brothers, Jacob Bickel and Dennis McVey. She was adored by her grandmother, Lorraine Bosserman, and was known as a best friend to Cassandra Rankin, with whom she shared countless cherished memories.
Donna's legacy is one of love, compassion, and unwavering support. She was the best friend her mother and grandmother could have hoped for, always there with a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. Her love for her siblings was evident in her constant presence, ensuring that they would never feel alone in their times of need.
As we gather to celebrate Donna's life, we reflect on the indelible mark she has left on all who knew her. She may have departed from our lives, but her spirit will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Her strength and determination are qualities we will carry with us, inspired by her example to face our own challenges with grace and fortitude.
