Samuel Bruce Heishman
Samuel Bruce Heishman, 81, of Waynesboro, Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 4, 2025, after a brief illness.
Mr. Heishman was born in Wardensville, West Virginia, on January 8, 1944 a son of the late Thomas James Heishman, Sr. and Margie (Hilbert) Heishman.
Sam was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Waynesboro. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Sellers during the Vietnam War, he obtained degrees from West Virginia University and Bob Jones University, and was retired from nTelos, as a customer service manager.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Heishman was preceded in death by his siblings Bernell Smith, Ken Heishman, Joyce Osborn, Mark Heishman, Wayne Heishman, and Richard Heishman.
He is survived by his brother Thomas Heishman, Jr. of Falls Church; his sister Karen (Jim) Dove of Verona; his children, Deborah Heishman of Charlottesville, Daniel Heishman of Roseland, and Jonathan (Amanda) Heishman of Raphine. He leaves five grandchildren, Annie, James, Leah, Isaac, and Abigail, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mark Finch.
The family will receive friends following the service.
