Carol Glascock

Carol Jean (Hoover) Glascock, of Stuarts Draft, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 18, 2025. She was born on February 9, 1947, to the late Eugene and Thelma Hoover in McDowell. Carol dedicated her life to caring for others - with compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion.

Carol proudly served as a Registered Nurse at Western State Hospital, where she worked for 36 years. Her passion for helping those in need extended far beyond her career. A member of the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad for 32 years, Carol gave her time selflessly to her community, always putting others before herself.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Melody (Andrew) Long and Robin Michael (fiancé, Chris Brown); her cherished grandchildren: Curtis (Christa) Long of Arlington, TX, Seth (Katherine) Long of Ardmore, PA, and Kallie Brown of Harrisonburg; and her adored twin great granddaughters, Audrey and Nora Long of Texas.Carol is also survived by her siblings: Linda (Jim) Will of Bluegrass, Vickie Hoover and Dennis Hoover both of McDowell, and Connie Hoover of Afton. She is also survived by niece, Kitty (Nic) Rexrode of Franklin, WV and nephew, Jamie (Erin) Will of Monterey.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unconditional love. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3pm on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Arbaugh II officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
