William C. Quick
MONETA – William Clayton Quick II (“Bill”), 61, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Bill was born in Williamsburg, Virginia, on September 25, 1963 and was the son of the late William Clayton Quick and Frances Sandy Quick. He was a former resident of Richmond and was currently living at Smith Mountain Lake.
He was employed by Dematic (a division of the Kion Group), and managed, designed, built and supported automated solutions for companies throughout the world. He was previously employed by Honeywell International for 32 years.
Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, kayaking, target-shooting, camping and so much more. He had a love for both being on the water and being in the outdoors. His faith was foundational in shaping his character: he was kindhearted, gentle and selfless, a natural Good Samaritan who had a knack for showing up at just the right time to rescue a friend - or a stranger- from harm. He was a loving father, brother and partner. Bill was a gourmet cook who enjoyed preparing exquisite meals for family and friends. He also thoroughly enjoyed international travel.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Karen Quick; and a brother-in-law, John Mahalick.
Surviving are his loving partner of ten years, Wana Reyes; two daughters, Jessica Boyce (husband Nick) of Spring Lake, N.C. and Tiffany Quick of Buchanan; two sisters, Susan Mahalick of Henrico and Janet Buchanan (husband Hugh) of South Chesterfield; and the mother of his daughters, Carol Williams Quick of Richmond.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m on Tuesday, September 30 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home, in Churchville, officiated by Rev. Reed Hopkins. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Andrew and Hunter Dyson, Stephen and Michael Buchanan, Nick Boyce, Tiffany Quick Ed Taylor, and Fred Wood.
