William "Trey" Fortune Duke
William Fortune “Trey” Duke, III, 50, husband of Krista Lavonne (Huffman) Duke, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Duke was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on August 4, 1975, the son of William Fortune Duke, Jr. and Linda Gene (Bagwell) Lange.
Trey was employed as a supervisor at Lowe's in Waynesboro and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Known for his generous spirit, he volunteered with numerous organizations throughout the community, including the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and the Special Olympics. He had a deep love for golf and also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Mr. Duke was preceded in death by his step-father, Gerald Broughman.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 19 years, is his father William F. “Bill” Duke and his wife, Nancy of Staunton; his mother, Linda (Bagwell) Lange and her husband, Ed of Waynesboro; two daughters, Vivien L. Duke and Sadie E. Duke of Staunton; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Linda Kerns of Dayton.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Memorial Baptist Church by Reverend Todd Latham. The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be private in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
