Inez Johnson
Inez Oliver Johnson, 95, of Crimora, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at River Edge Rehab and Nursing in Waynesboro. She was born February 1, 1930 in Nelson County, daughter of the late James Leonard Oliver and Froney Lawhorn Oliver.
Inez was a graduate of Fleetwood High School in Nelson County and retired from Hershey Chocolate as a line operator. She was a charter member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church and is a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Inez’s Wayside Church family and Tammy Lawhorne.
In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Fitch Warren (Curly) Johnson, they were married June 27, 1961, and he passed on October 29, 2000. She was also preceded by her son, Warren Harding (Bobby) Johnson and her daughters, Lisa Dawn Miller and Linda Ross Scott; her siblings, Leonard Berkely Oliver, Mariah Dell Kidd, Mary Estelle Thayer, Virginia Magdalene Fitzgerald,Rene Irene Briggs, James William Oliver, Douglas Bernard Oliver, Elizabeth Frances Brown, Charles Harmon Oliver and Leona Maybelle Oliver.
Survivors include her son, Page Ross, Jr. and his wife, Debbie; her son-in-law, Ricky Miller; her daughter, Wanda Lee Johnson and daughter-in-law Darlene Johnson. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren, sharing a close and loving bond with Brian Lucas and his wife, Sarah, as well as Tiffani Murray and her husband, Cody. She had many great-grandchildren who brought her great joy, among them are Iva Lucas, Lettie Lucas and Hayes Murray. She is also survived by numerous great-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2025 in the Chapel of the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, conducted by Pastor Levi Smith. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Brian Lucas, Ricky Miller, JR Ross, Dallas Rittenhouse, Richard Moyer and Jamie Barnhart.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Wayside Baptist Church, 45 Turk Mountain Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
