Edna Elizabeth (Betty) Weekley

Edna Elizabeth Weekley (Betty), 76, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She was born in Harrisonburg on December 6, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Earle Pratt and Mary (Wade) Weekley.

Betty retired from Harrisonburg City Schools in 2005 after 34 years of teaching. Most recently, she worked part time at JMU as a telecommunications operator.

She is survived by a sister, Mary W. Custer (Nick), four nieces, Annette Long (Shane), Jennifer Conley (Travis), Stacy Escobar (Adam), and Robyn Whiting (Reese); a nephew, Kevin Weekley; five great nieces and three great nephews, Meghan Long, Jordan Long, Tucker Conley (Anna), Hope Bryant (Colin), Makayla Escobar, Lucas Escobar, Theo Escobar, and Logaan Whiting; and three great great nieces, Addilyn, Cove and Luna. She was predeceased by her brother, Buddy Weekley.

Friends may call at the home of Mary Custer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a charity near and dear to Betty for over 30 years.
