Irving Hughes
Irving Christopher Hughes, 65, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Charlottesville on January 10, 1960.
Irving worked as a security officer in Charlottesville. He greatly enjoyed photography.
Irving is survived by his mother, Rosemary Hughes of Waynesboro; cousins: Marvin Mills and wife, Karen Anderson and husband, John, Diane Towns; as well as additional extended family members. He also leaves behind close friends: Hugh Mitchell Gravitt, III and wife, Sara, Zach and Leah Hale, Cameran, Ethan, Imani, Aubrey, Christian, and Mason Newsone; as well as additional friends. Irving also leaves behind his fur baby, Sissy and his other much beloved pets.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro with Rev. Dr. Rickey White officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
There will be no formal visitation or viewing at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Irving’s memory to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or your local SPCA.
